The previous announcements regarding the formation of the European Cobra Club (ECC) and the announcement of ECM 2017 will require some changes to the forum.
It was originally created for ECM 2016, and we wish to retain all the related threads - but it now needs to also include the ECC and, of course, ECM 2017.
I'll be investigating the best way to do this and then discussing it with Roel and the other members of the ECC Steering Group. I'll need to take the forum offline while I implement the changes, but I'll give advance warning of this beforehand.
Well done Roel and Yvona, and I'm looking forward to seeing you again in Liberec - and everyone else as well!

Dear Friend, thanks for all your digital help and we both are excited to be next year's organizers and we would very much like to see all our friends in our hometown and our province: Liberecky Kraj
After the update I can'd use the forum with my smart-phone (Android 4.4 Chrome browser).
After the registration, you will be redirected to a *******. XYZ URL where you can not leave the advertisement anymore. The forum can not be displayed any more. On the PC, with Firefox and advertising blocks, it still works.
I'm quite busy at the moment, and haven't had time to update the forum yet - so nothing has changed!
I can successfully access the forum from Google Chrome in both desktop and mobile mode from my three Android devices (4.1, 5.1 and 6) - so it looks like a problem with your phone.
Have you tried clearing Chrome's cache and cookies?
It works again, even with the smartphone. Had the problem when I was traveling. Here at home, behind my own proxy, everything works as desired.
I've found the problem.
The forum uses banners to be dynamic loaded
---------------------------------- <script type="text/javascript"> $(window).load(function() { var topAd = $('#top-ad-banner'); if (topAd.prop('scrollHeight') < 90) { var elemText = '<div id="support-message"><b>Please consider supporting this website by disabling your ad-blocker.<br />' + 'This website does not use audio ads, popups, or other annoyances. Thank you!</b></div>' var newElem = $(elemText); newElem.insertAfter(topAd);
var css = '<style type="text/css">#support-message { display: block !important; height: auto !important; width: 728px !important;' + 'text-align: center !important; margin: 0 auto 10px !important;}</style>'; $("head").append(css); } }); -----------------------------------
I think the banner create a redirect to the *******. XYZ spam URL.

That's odd - I've not experienced this, but clearly you have a problem. Is this only happening on your phone when using 4G? There were some "rogue ad" problems reported on the Proboards support forum back in April, but the offending ads seem to have been subsequently removed. They created a webpage to visit to log the recently displayed ads, but I can't get this to work from my various desktop PCs and browsers. But I'll play around with my Android devices and see if I can find a way to help diagnose this further.
If other people could try accessing the forum from an Android device over a 4G connection, that might also help track this down.
I've not had cause to post a problem on the support forum yet, but it looks as though I will be soon!
I've discovered why the reporting tool wasn't working - I needed to disable my AdBlocker for that web page!
Next time you hit this problem, please go to this URL on your phone and follow the instructions on the page. Once you have identified which page you were on when the ad caused the problem, click the Report button next to it to report the ad to Proboards, who will then investigate it further and block it.
Please keep me updated on progress.

If the redirection is made by the banner you can not click any other side. You have to leave the browser and restart the browser before you can call anything else.
Have you tried going to that page after you restart your browser? The forum page and ad history are stored as cookies, so unless you have Chrome on your mobile set to clear cookies each time, then going to that page after reloading should still recover the history. It certainly does this on my desktop.
Could you try this and let me know?
Yes, the forum can be made ad-free, but at a cost. I'm going to analyse the traffic and work out what the monthly cost would be.
Could I confirm that enabling an ad blocker within Chrome on your Android phone enables you to access the forum OK over a mobile connection? If so, this presumably gives you a workaround until such time as the rogue ad is identified and disabled?

Hello,
Everything works fine for me tried it with my normal internet connection on my PC, android tablet and phone. With Chrome and without any ad-blocker installed. Even did it on my smartphone trough 4G. Of course I see a banner on top and some ad on bottom but they do not redirect me.
It's tricky as sometimes problems like this can be caused by a virus/trojan hijacking the browser and making redirections. But in my experience this tends to occur on Windows-based machines rather than Android devices, and it also only happens on a mobile link. Anyway, hopefully Eddy will be able to recover the ad/page history to help Proboards home in on the problem.
