An ECM 2016 special edition of the UK Cobra Replica Club's Snake Torque magazine landed on my doormat this morning - and an excellent publication it is too!
It contains a two page article on the European Cobra Club, and a total of 20 pages on ECM 2016 - including a nine page article by Charlie Freeman, with a further five pages compiled from participant feedback. Thanks to all those who contributed, directly or indirectly - this will serve to strengthen future UK interest in the ECMs.
Some of you will know that David and I had difficulties with the CRC and the club forum last year, which resulted in my standing down as the Thames Valley area representative. I decided to phone the Snake Torque editor (Tony Merrick) this afternoon to thank him for producing this excellent special issue. We had a very good conversation, resulting in the reinstatement of our previous relationship, and my taking up the Thames Valley area rep role once again.
Tthe timing is perfect, as this might generate some additional UK interest in ECM 2017 before the closing date.
Thanks again to all who contributed, especially Charlie - good job chaps!

Pleased to hear you are back in the fold Alan. I also read Snake Torque from front to back today and it is a good read. Tony actually gave me a call to see how it had come out as I had praised it on the UK forum earlier today and his copy had not arrived. Cheers Charlie

Besides being mega-curious, i am also happy to read that the old good times are back again and that Alan can again use his many talents for the British Cobra Club as well. Well done!

My six copies for the EEC Steering Group haven't arrived yet, so I'm intrigued to see how it's come out.
Thanks for all your hard work on what must be the largest article ever!
I believe the sorting and posting is done by the printers, so I'm guessing your copies will be part of a larger batch being sent to Tony M for the CRC shop. As Charlie mentioned Tony hadn't received them yesterday, but hopefully they'll arrive today and he'll then forward them to you.
Rest assured it's all under control. I arranged with Tony that Kev will send me copies as soon as he gets the surplus stock from the printers.
I have been in touch with Tony and Kev this week and am fully aware of the process. All steering group members should also be aware of this from my earlier postings.
There's been a bit of activity on the UK CC forum - all positive.
I hope that it leads to some immediate interest in ECM2017.
Thought you'd all like to see a posting I made on the UK CC forum.
"The ECM is a great way to put some miles on the car, driving great roads, with wonderful views (I exclude Hayling Island of course!). Good time to meet people from a number of countries and sharing views, opinions and car stories.
My thanks to Charlie for taking the time to write a story about ECM2016, and all the people that contributed to the article.
I got bitten by the ECM bug whilst living in France and Michel Mousset (local French guy) invited me to participate.
Unfortunately after 4 years of Cobra ownership major back trouble (can't get out of the car without a crane!) has caused me to sell my beloved LUX427.
I'm delighted, and a little proud, to have been able to organise an ECM and for it to have been appreciated.
I'd like to thank Alan Browse for joining me in the venture and for all his support in making it such a successful event.
I hope to remain in contact with the Cobra fraternity through my involvement in the European Cobra Club, which was set up late last year, through my role on the Steering Group.
