Just fitted an electric actuator to work the handbrake cables. Never really had a handbrake previously but it is now 100%! Fitted to my AK Gen 2. You can make and fit it within the day without having to take the body off or the fuel tank. Wiring also straight forward. Just remove the back wheels for access. Not an easy job to bolt the actuator in position due to the constraints but it can be done.
I'm pleased to say I now have a working handbrake again, complete with "handbrake on" warning light - nd very shiny the new XJS lever looks too! It was a lot of work getting it all fettled and correctly aligned, but the cable routing is a lot better on the Dax than it is on the AK. So you can get it to work - as I did with the Dax-style lever last year, but you only have to forget to release it once and it all goes to pot again! Hopefully the warning light will prevent that!
See you at Stoneleigh on Sunday - hopefully your man will have finished the sump guards in time! My next project is to fit power steering, so I'll be buying the brackets from Dax up there too.

We both have warning lights!! Alan, your Sump Guard is in my garage and I will see you on Sunday. What time are you arriving? If it is pelting with rain then I will be in Tin Top. Charlie
That's a very useful post Roel. I'm just wiring in an "indicators on" buzzer - if I find I can't hear it at speed, I'm sure I can find room in the boot for one of those sirens!
I'm hoping to complete the wiring work today, so I can then hopefully get cracking on your route maps!
