I understand that quite a few participants will be using the Hull to Rotterdam Ferry and some will be Dover Calais. Who is travelling on which ferry and what date of travel. I am going Dover to Calais with Graham Heatrick and Brian Cooper on Monday 22nd June Cheers Charlie
Jo and I will be crossing the channel on Sunday either by ferry or shuttle. We have not decided yet. We are taking the car train from Dusseldorf to Innsbruck to get down and then driving back after the event in a leisurely manner.
Rob and I are taking a scenic, largely motorway-free route, via Eurotunnel on Friday 19th June. We'll then hit the motorways to meet up with our mate Bob Swift in Belgium and then driving via the Vosges mountains, the Black Forest, along the northern shore of Lake Constance, through the Alps via the Fern and Gerlos passes, then finally on to Bad Kleinkirchheim via the Grossglockner pass. From Belgium that's four days of motoring bliss!
We'll be leaving BK on the Sunday, then heading off to Italy for a few days touring in the Dolomites. After that, we'll head home via the western Alps, Lake Constance (the southern shore this time), the Black Forest (a different route), the Vosges mountains (ditto), and back to Belgium for a final evening with Bob before we take the Eurotunnel again on Sunday 5th July.
This will be our longest ECM trip yet at 16 days and around 2200 miles -I can't wait!

That is a long way indeed!! And considering that a Cobra takes ca. 14 ltr./ 100km. that means quite a few stops at the 'Tankstelle' my friend... Fortunatly, petrol-prices in Kärnten are not as high as in the rest of Austria, due to a 'legacy' of their now deceased (2008) LandesHauptmann Jörg Haider, who made a longtime deal with a certain Mr. Ghadaffi of Lybia for oilsupplies... Both are gone by now, but that deal is more or less still effective today...

I was not very clear on the dates before. We are crossing the Channel on Sunday 21st and catching the Car train the same day so that we arrive in Innsbruck on Monday 22nd. We are doing it this way because it is about a four hours drive from Innsbruck to Bad Kleinkircheim and we want to be ready to do the Early Birds' run on Tuesday 23rd to The Nochalmstrasse which will bring back a few memories.

Sounds like a plan! When you depart from Innsbruck around 9.00h, you will be in BK around 13.00h or thereabouts. We, the ECM Organization Team, will arrive around the same time, since we are on a 4 hour drive from Vienna, at the other end of Austria, with all our stuff for the ECM. Just think of all those goodiebags and the more than 250 polo- and T-shirts and around 160 caps... Boxes and boxes full of it, therefore the girls are taking the BIG Pajero LWB and Tom and I are single drivers in our Cobra's. You won't hear me complain
On tuesday we are indeed going for a nice, but not too long trip to the Nockalmstrassse and have lunch at a great place on the top, Wirtshaus Karlbad. Have a look on Google... Great food & beer. We expect a lot of EB's on tuesday afternoon, but on the monday there are just 3 VERY Early Birds: Fenwick, Jacobs, Böhler.
Looking forward to see you guys on monday afternoon! Just 8 months and 7 days to go now....
We are planning to use the tunnel on 23 Jun, catching the train that evening, and returning on the train from Innsbruck on 29 Jun, back via the tunnel pm on 30 Jun.

Hi Nige!
Would that indicate that you are on the same return train as Brian Cooper? If you would like to join us on our LB trip on Sunday afternoon on the Ossiachersee for a 2 hour 'cruise' with lunch or coffee onboard, you are most welcome. Ofcourse: NOT mandatory this LB excursion...
I haven't been in touch with Brian, but yes, we are extending our stay by 24 hours because of availability on the train. So joining with the LBs on a cruise sounds really good! Certainly pencil us in for it, I will confirm once I've chatted with "the boss"!!
