Please note that the long version of the route includes the Malta High Alpine Road, for which you will either require the Kärnten Card or pay the toll fee of €20 per car.
The glass Airwalk next to the Kölnbrein Dam looks like fun!
From Trip Advisor: "The Malta High Alpine Road is a toll road, but the drive is worth every cent. And at the end of the road is the next reward, the spectacular Kölnbrein Dam. The road leads you through beautiful nature with spectacular waterfalls. On two occasions the road is so narrow, that traffic is regulated by traffic lights. Waiting time can be up to twenty minutes. Fortunately, the waiting time is dynamically displayed at the stopping line. If you are planning to do more attractions in Carinthia, my advice is to get a Kaernten Card. Many attractions, including the Malta High Alpine Road are free with this Card."
