We're currently looking at making the sending of announcement emails in multiple languages easier to manage.
For important announcements, we're looking at producing translations into Dutch, French and German as well as the English version. To facilitate this, we have created four member groups - "Lang Pref: English", "Lang Pref: Dutch", "Lang Pref: French" and "Lang Pref: German", and have made everyone a member of one of these groups to indicate which of the four languages is preferred for these emails.
If we have English, Dutch, French and German versions of an email, we will send the English one to all members of the "Lang Pref:English" group, the French version to all members of the "Lang Pref: French" group, etc.
Please note that the production of the different language versions depends upon volunteer translators being available, and that this might not always be possible. If we're missing a language version, for example Dutch, we'll send all members of the "Lang Pref: Dutch" group the English version instead.
You can see which "Lang Pref:" group you've been assigned to in your profile or against your name in the member list. If you would like to change the preferred language group to which your account has been allocated, please send me a Personal Message telling me which of the four languages you'd prefer.
