Hi everyone - and a Happy New Year to you all!
When this forum was first set up, it was a closed forum accessible only to registered members, with no guest access. Later, guest access was enabled so that visitors could see what the ECC and ECMs were about and then, if interested, register for an account.
I have only just become aware that some registered members appear to be accessing the forum without signing in, which means that they are limited to "guest" mode, and therefore don't have full access to the forum content.
Here is a brief summary of the limitations of guest mode:
- Guests can view posts, but can't reply or create new posts
- Guests are unable to view attachments such as full-size versions of embedded images
- Guests cannot perforrm any downloads - for example registration forms, satnav route files
- Certain boards (e.g. the Newsletters for each ECM) aren't visible to guests
Communicating with members and ECM participants by email is becoming increasingly difficult and unreliable. The number of delivery failures continues to grow as email addresses change or spam filters block emails from getting through. Everything is posted on the forum, and the information is structured so that things are easier to find, and what you see will be the latest information rather than an out-of-date version.
It is much easier for the Steering Group and the ECM organisers to communicate with you via the forum. It's also better for you, as you can access the forum at any time (via your computer or your mobile phone) rather than trying to find old emails that might not even have got through to you in the first place!
So please visit the forum regularly, and be sure to log into your account when you do - unless you've disabled cookies your browser should remember your login details when you next access the site on that device, so you shouldn't need to fill in your username and password each time.
If you've forgotten your password, you can use the "forgotten password" link on the login screen to reset it.
Thanks for reading this, and I hope to see many of you in Austria!
