Hi all, This will be our 8th ECM. We are lucky to never miss one. My Cobra missed the first 3 ECM events. The first 2 events I went with my 1965 MGB. On the way to Slovenia (2011) my Cobra got as far as Stuttgart (Germany) before the gearbox broke down so we arrived in Slovenia in a hired Ford Fiesta !! Anyway, the ECM is as always a fantastic event. And no doubt this 8th one will also become memorable. Looking foreward in meeting you all.
I didn't realise you'd attended all of them - wow!
Rob's still working on his fuel injection issues, and although my wheels are repaired my Dax is still in the paint shop - I'm hoping to get it back in a week or so. So hopefully our cars should have fully recovered from our disastrous ECM 2015 trip by March.
As the ECM is apparently in the UK this year we're starting to plan our 2016 European tour. We've decided to go back to the Alps rather than the Pyrenees this time, and we may well head back to Inzell - probably in June. So if you and Marion would be interested in hitching up with us again, just let us know!
I hope you and Marion are well and fully recovered from your strenuous winter activities
We're planning to take set off via Eurotunnel on Tuesday 7th June. All we've booked so far is an overnight stop half way to Inzell (the Panorama Gasthof Stemler in Eulenbis) and two nights at the Hotel Gasthof Schwarzberg (where we stayed for ECM 2013). But things are still pretty flexible, and we're planning to meet next weekend to decide which Alpine passes we'll then be heading for in Austria and Italy.
It would be great to team up with you again - Michel and Claudie may also be able to join us for a few days too. That would make a nice little ECM reunion as a warm-up for ECM 2016!

AT LAST !! Yesterday I was able to drive my Cobra again. This was after 3,5 month of hard work (7 days a week !) when I rebuilt my spare 26 year old Ford V6 Cosworth (needed valve seats recut and heads flattened), repaired the spare gearbox, took the oil leaking V6 engine and worn/faulty gearbox out, in went the new (old) V6 and gearbox, in went a new start motor (the old one could not turn over the new V6; teaked the startup and idle parameters of my motormanagement (because the 'thing 'would not idle !), exchanged the righthand Spax shock absorber (bent !).
But I noticed that the motormanagement has to adjust itself (yes it is of a self learning type) to the new V6. Currently it is not running as smooth as the old one.
So with 2 days to go I can go by my Cobra instead of the daily runner. It only needs a good clean..

Hey Dick, nice to hear the old girl is running again and you won't have to drive alternative transport for the 4th time... We are now just after a nice seaside dinner in De Panne, and cross the Channel tomorrow on the 12h. ferry to Dover. CU there!
