Welcome Dave, it is also my first ECM and just had my car one year after completion of build. As it is my first ECM there are a number of us leaving my house in Newark Notts to convoy down. All of us will be first ECM timers!! Cheers Charlie
Delighted you and Louise are joining us in September. My first ECM was number 6 in St Tropez. Got hooked then. One thing you can be sure of is the UK one will be different from the French and Spanish Rivieras. I'm particularly pleased at the UK turnout of over 30 cars. But what a geographical spread - from all over Europe. Will be great to compare cars, notes, journeys etc.

We are particularly pleased to see so many enthousiastic reactions and so many new participants to the ECM. After all, that's what it is all about: seeing old friends and making new ones... Not difficult to understand why David says he got hooked... LOL
It must be a wonderful sight to see the various convoys flocking together towards the Island, we will drive down from our house in Ceska Republika (CZ) to Dunkerque to join all of you at our 8th ECM pondering away the miles as we traverse Europe in our old, but trusty 'Made in Britain' Pilgrim Mk3.
I've just updated the participants table to show that you'll be travelling from the Czech Republic rather than the Netherlands as currently shown. What a truly international/pan-European event this is!

Hi Alan, we don't mind where we come from.... It's where we're headed that matters! I am a bit surprised that there are no entrants from Poland... In Ramatuelle (ECM 2010) I think I counted polish 3 cars. And that's a bit further away than Hayling Island. We should persuade Nigel & Pascale to drive down from Shanghai....

That's right Roel: 3 Cobra teams came from Poland in 2010 and I remember one also participated in Inzell in 2013, but I don't remember saw any since then. I am also surprised with the Belgians who are very close to UK: only one team this year!
But the good new is about all those UK newcomers, many of which will no doubt also become as addicted to ECMs as we, old veterans, are...

Bonjour cher Ami!
Yes, you are right, the Belgians are letting us down a bit it seems... Why I have no idea.. It's just across the Channel, so very, very close... You can even SEE it!
We are planning a Cobra-trip to CZ and onwards to Slovakia and Austria and back via Germany at the end of June... Just to get in the mood! But before that, we have a long weekend to the Ardennes planned with the Cobra at mid-May, to celebrate our first anniversary. Time flies...

I'm surprised too, being the only Belgian particpating but I must say I'm not affiliated to the Belgian cobra club. The Dutch CCN is far more intresting.
You may be the only Belgian at ECM2016, but we're glad you are here to represent your country. Will you be meeting up with the Dutch convoy on the way over?

Hi Roel, Dave,
I think it's still too early for a convoy from here, but as I heard already some of the Dutch will go, as we do, with the ferry from Dunkerque on thursday. So I supose we will meet somewhere on the trip on friday.
